High Pressure:

Kangen water is a trademark of Enagic inc. of Japan a leader in the ionized alkaline water industry. Kangen is a Japan term and when translated to English it means “return to origin.” There are at least two origins this water returns us to: the water before it was polluted and our bodies pH balance- taking is from an acidic (where disease lives) to alkaline (no disease can live) state. The Japanese brought their superior Kangen’s ionizer water machine to the United States in 2003. It is used in Japan’s hospitals as a medical device. In my research the only disadvantage I have found about Enagic’s Kangen water machine is the cost; however, Enagic’s answer for that is “water ionizers that are priced lower than the Enagic Leveluk SD501 actually cost much more over the life of the device, and do not make the same hexagonal Kangen-grade water.” Enagic justify the cost of the Kangen water machine because of the superior and costly electrolysis plates which are made of the precious metals titanium and platinum. Their plates are solid titanium, dipped in platinum (platinum cost $1,500.00 per ounce) with a nearly five times larger surface area. Kangen reported that their competitors’ unit cost which is much cheaper uses wire mesh, sprayed with a platinum coating and has a much smaller surface area. Kangen reported small electrolysis plates are not as efficient as larger ones since “small plates heat up more quickly than larger ones. This causes the alkalinity to drop off sharply and quickly in devices with small plates, and this affects the ability of the machine to create hexagonal water clusters.” Hexagonal clusters are clusters of water where the water molecular cluster has been reduced by two-thirds. They take on a hexagonal shape, these smaller hexagonal water clusters are more able to penetrate the cellular membrane resulting in enhanced tissue repair and waste removal.

Enagic also reported that they use 230 watts of electricity in the SD501 and their closest competitor’s machine uses 80 watts of electricity. Electrical power or wattage is extremely important in producing hexagonal shape water clusters. Since, “electricity is the power that splits the water molecule and produces the desirable hexagonal molecular structure, more power is definitely better.”

One of the major differences I found in researching the various ionizing water machines are the health benefits individuals have received after using this machine. The healing testimonials that have been reported after drinking the Kangen water are phenomenal. Build Your Self-confidence Discover the Difference Between Alkaline, Bottled, and Tap Water

What is this big craze over the pH level in the water we drink? The water bottled industry is currently a multi-billion dollar business. It has not been to long ago we experienced a paradigm shift from tap to bottled water. Drinking tap water has become somewhat taboo with all the chemical additives not to mention the thought of the recycling process (recycling bathroom water into drinking water, ugh). You may have heard these terms used before I had no idea what they meant: pH level, alkaline, and acidity. What are the health benefits in drinking alkaline water? Why not drink acidic water? Well, I have attended a couple of seminars and did a little research on my own to see what all this fuss about the pH level of our drinking water.

Build your self-confidence discover the difference between alkaline, tap water, and bottled water. Potential Hydrogen (pH) is the measurement of hydrogen-ion concentration of any solution. It measure the acidity or alkalinity of a solution. The pH scale starts at 0 – 14 and 7 being neutral. Tap water is usually found at a neutral level. It is not alkaline or acidic. However, it has been chemically treated to make it neutral. Anything above 7 is alkaline. This means the pH reading is more alkaline and is an oxygen rich fluid. In an cancer update article published by John Hopkins hospital reported, “cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment.” Conversely, they also reported, “cancer cells thrive in an acidic environment.” A pH reading below 7 is acidic. The lower the reading the more acidic and oxygen deprived the fluid is.

Bottled water and tap water are both acidic. Some of the bottled water and tap water are from the same source. If you look on the label of some of the bottles you will notice the source of the water is PWS. This stands for Public Works System this means the source of the water is same source as your tap water – municipal water. The only difference is it has been “purified” whatever that means. So, I started “purifying” my own tap water by boiling it and saved some money. It is recommended that you use a carbon filter to “purify” your tap water and save yourself some money not to mention filling up the landfills (that is another story).

This is just a start to educate you on this alkaline water frenzy, feel free to expand your knowledge about the health benefits. In my research I read testimonials and at the seminars people shared the health benefit they experienced by drinking alkaline water. Demonstrate Self-Confidence by Learning How You Operate on a Day-to-Day Basis

Do you like to plan your day? If you are like me you have a to-list and as you finish a task you gladly mark it off your list. Personality Theorist Katherine Briggs Myers expanded Carl Jung’s Personality Theory studies when she developed the fourth preference Judging and Perceiving. This natural preference explains an individual’s attitude about the external world and how they operate daily. Briggs Myers stated, “…how we deal with the external world on a Day-to-day Basis. Are we organized and purposeful, and more comfortable with scheduled, structured environments (Judging), or are we flexible and diverse, and more comfortable with open, casual environments (Perceiving)?”

There is an arguably difference between Perceiving and Judging. Perceivers are more free-spirited, flexible, and open-ended. They appear to be less structured and more spontaneous. Typically, they do not make decisions readily; they would prefer to weight all their options before making a decision. They believe in living one day at a time; usually Perceivers would not be comfortable preparing a five year strategic plan. This type of behavior could appear as procrastination, since they like to postpone decisions and do things at the last minute. Judgers have the proclivity to be more organized and structured. They will make a to-do-list of the activities that need to be accomplished for the day. On their to-do-list as they finish a task they triumphantly mark it off the list and go to the next item. They like the sense of progress and closure. Judgers are usually neat. They schedule appointments for meetings in advance. They not only schedule the appointment but they will also confirm it a day before the date to ensure the individuals they are meeting with will be there.

Demonstrate self-confidence by learning how you operate on a day-to-day basis. As you may imagine there maybe a conflict if both a Judger and a Perceiver work on a project together or are partners in a business. The Judger will want to set deadlines, schedule time frames to complete tasks, and bring closure to issues. Although, this type of management style may not agree with a Perceiver’s style of operation, the two different preferences could complement the other. This is possible if both individuals have developed their natural preferences and are tolerant to their differences in daily business operation. Hence, the weak area for one will be the area of strength for the other. For example, the Judger will want to make a decision and bring closure to an issue; however the Perceiver will research the matter thoroughly and not allow an irrational decision to be made. Initially until they learn one another personality type, there maybe some conflict but all that can be worked out.

If you use the former method, you use the Thinking mode of decision making and the latter is the Feeling mode.

What mode do you use to make decisions pertaining to your relationships, occupation, and or spending habits? Personality Theorist Carl Jung contends, “people have the capability to make decision based on two very different sets of criteria: Thinking and Feeling. When someone makes a decision that is based on logic and reason, they are operating in the Thinking mode. When someone makes a decision that is based on their value system, or what they believe to be right, they are operating in the Feeling mode.” We all use both modes to make decisions; we have a natural preference to rely on one more than the other. Some of the most difficult decision we make are the ones that conflict with both of our modes of decision making. In those cases our dominate mode takes over. The easy decisions and the ones we feel good about are those that agree with both our Feeling and Thinking modes.

Demonstrate self-confidence by learning how to identify your natural preference you use to make decisions. An individual who uses the Feeling mode to make decisions will use their own set of rules or personal morals and value system when trying to decide a matter. A “Feeler” is more sensitive to others feelings and will avoid sharing information that could be upsetting. They are more of a spontaneous shopper their purchases may be just because they like an item or because it is on sale. They may not accept a job offer because they do not like the work environment. On the other hand, a person who uses the Thinking decision making mode will be logical, rational, and impartial. Their decisions will be based on what they believe to be fair and correct. This is based on a pre-defined set of rules for behavior. A “Thinker” is more objective in their decision making process. They are the type that will do the necessary product research for the best product purchase. They are not usually spontaneous shopper if they do not need an item they are not going to purchase it, sale or no sale. Typically, they will not consider their feelings and may not consider the other person’s feeling when making a decision. Whatever, the guideline states that is what it is, how they feel about it is not important. They are going to do the “Right Thing” whether they agree with it or not. If they are not careful some of their behavior can be seen as insensitive.

Demonstrate self-confidence by learning how to identify your natural preference you use to make decisions. Are they based on your own set of personal rules or do you make decisions based on a pre-define set of rules of behavior. Reflect on where you are at this point of your life and determine whether you are pleased with your current state. I say this because where you are at this present moment in time is a result of the decisions you have made throughout your life. If you are not pleased with your current life situation, then you may need to change or adjust your mode of decision making.

I said it before but it bears repeating, if you are not happy with the results you are receiving than you may need to change or adjustments your decision making mode. If you are a people pleaser but no one is trying to please you than you may want to be a little more rational, objective, and logical when deciding how to interact within your relationships.

Sensing or Intuition - Empower Yourself Identify Your Natural Preference

Think about it, how do you gather information? Do you believe everything you see and or hear. Do you religiously watch the evening news and believe every report. You never ask yourself what kind of spin did the new broadcast put on the report to “sensationalize” it., to increase their ratings. We live in the information age, if you need to know anything go online and “google” it. Do you believe everything you read on the internet? In this article I am going to discuss your natural preference for gathering information whether it is Sensing or Intuitive.

Is your natural preference Sensing or Intuitive? Do you know the differences?
Carl Jung Personality Theorist contended, “that there are two distinct ways of perceiving the data that we gather. The Sensing preference absorbs data in a literal, concrete fashion. The Intuitive preference generates abstract possibilities from information that is gathered.” How you take in information or data is based on your preferred method of gathering and absorbing it. Do you trust your five senses (Sensing) or do you rely on your instincts (Intuitive)?” We all need data or information to base our decisions. Well, individuals that are sensing have a native preference to process information based on what they: see, hear, touch, smell, and taste. This could be: tasting food, following instruction, and smelling a rose. They typically take data in literally in a concrete fashion. They take things at “face value” no gray areas. Conversely, individuals that are intuitive have a native preference to rely on their instincts when gathering information. These individuals typically do not take everything literally; they generate abstract possibilities from information gathered. They rely heavily on their instinct. Sometimes it is called a “gut feeling” “third eye”, or “a six sense”. Everything is sorted through their own personal value system. They are more abstract; they have the ability to “read between the lines.” They realize what their five senses are telling them but they rely more heavily on what their “gut feeling” is telling them. They trust their intuition without building on a strong and solid foundation of facts.

Consequently, depending on how you gather information and process it, you may want to consider how you are relating it to your current relationships. Are you taking everything that is happening at face value and saying, “it is what is” and not looking at the possibilities of improvement or the potential for change. If you use the sensing method to gather information and process it based strictly on your five senses you could possibly be missing out on some wonderful opportunities. Admittedly, we cannot gather information and process it only on our own personal value system or set of rules – intuitive. Their must be a combination of the two preferences. Thus, as you journey through life you will notice yourself becoming more intuitive in the way you gather information to base your decisions. This is because you will have more experiences to weigh against your five senses

Rely more on your intuition. Life is not always “black or white” there is usually some gray areas. There should be a balance. Sometime you have to ask why or why not and not be so narrowly focused. Empower yourself identify your natural preference.

Introverted or Extroverted - Empower yourself Identify your Natural Preference Become a Better You


We all have natural preferences and based on these preferences we can identify our strengths and weaknesses. Do you realize based on your personality type that your occupation could possibly be pleasantly pleasing or desperately draining your energy. If it is a struggle or you find yourself consistently complaining about your chosen occupation, then that could possibly be an indicator that you are not working in the field that is complementary to your personality type. You could possibly be working in your area of weakness and that maybe a major contributing factor to your poor job performance. On the other hand, if your occupation is satisfying and it brings you a sense of joy and gratification; this could be indicative that you are working in an area of your strength. Additionally, your occupation most likely agrees with your personality type.


Is your natural preference introverted or extroverted or do you know the differences? According to

Personality Theorists, “Our Flow of Energy defines how we receive the essential part of our stimulation. Do we receive it from within ourselves (Introverted) or from external sources (Extroverted)?” Well, individuals that are introverted have a native preference to live in the world within them. They are typically stimulated or energized by: spending their leisure alone or with family; they derive pleasure from walks alone or with a significant other; they usually try not to draw attention to themselves in a crowd; they are content spending a quiet weekend at home; they would prefer to read a book than go out to a social gathering; and they prefer small groups rather than crowds. Conversely, individuals that are extroverted have a native preference to live in the world outside of them. These individuals are typically stimulated or energized by tasks that can be done with their hands and or involve other people: cooking; working on a car; talking, they like socializing with a group of people – social gathering, shopping; enjoy speaking to large groups; prefer to be the center of attention; and they feel at ease in a crowd.


Consequently, depending on how you are stimulated internally or externally you may want to consider whether your present occupation is pleasantly pleasing or desperately draining. If you have an introverted natural preference and your occupation requires you to control, communicate, and manage a large group of people and you feel drained at the end of the day; it may be you are operating outside of your native preference. You would be more equipped in an occupation where you can work independently of constant contact with employees. However, an extroverted personality type may enjoy controlling, communicating, and managing employees, since they are more people oriented and hands-on.


So to determine whether you have an introverted or extrovert preference you may have to identify what stimulates you: do you enjoy speaking to large audiences; is it a delight to attend social gathering; do you like being alone reading or writhing; taking solitary walks. These are just a few items that could possibly indicate your natural preference. If you have introversion tendencies then you are stimulate internally – meaning you enjoy activities that comes from within. Unlike extroversion tendencies you are more hands-on with various tasks and are people oriented. Extroverted personality type tend to be sociable individuals and are stimulated interacting with people. This information is not meant to box anyone in. Some of us have learned throughout various trails, tribulation, and life experiences to adjust ourselves to both modes of operations.

Demonstrate Self-Confidence by Conducting a Self-Assessment to Determine Your Strengths and Weaknesses

You may say, “I am not good at this particular task or I could improve in that area” well, we all have shortcomings no one is good at everything. However, we all have been graced with some type of gift and or talent. No one is expected to be good at everything; you just have to find your area you have been gifted in. What do you have a passion for? What do you enjoy doing whether you get paid for doing it or not? Whatever that may be that could possibly be your passion. I like helping others in whatever way I can. I love the idea that I may have played a small part in someone fulfilling their life dream or desire. Sometimes you may have to demonstrate self-confidence by conducting a self-assessment to determine your strengths and weaknesses.

A self-assessment may be necessary to determine the areas you are strong in as well as identify your shortcomings. It will give you insight on where you should concentrate your time and energy. Additionally, you will learn more about your personality type:

Extravert and Introverted
Sensing and Intuitive
Thinking and Feeling
Judging and Perceiving

This information could be used as a good starting point to determine whether or not you are currently working in an area that is a match for your personality.

Know your strengths and weaknesses. Know what you are good at verses what you are not and work in your area of strength. Work on your area of weakness. Additionally, while you are working on these areas, if you have a partner or friend who is good in your weak area, allow them to assist you. Never put yourself down because you are not good at a certain task. Identify the activities you do well and place your thoughts and energy in those areas. Always build yourself up, pat yourself on the back and dwell on your positive aspects. Do not dwell on negative thoughts about yourself, always think on the things you do well. For example, some people are not “number people” math is their weakness. I have found some of those same individuals are the most creative people. They can create something out of nothing. They can take “another person’s trash and turn it into a treasure.”

In some cases rather than conducting a self-assessment, you can ask a friend. This is especially so if your confidence in your friend’s opinion is held in high regards.
William Arthur Ward an American scholar wrote, “A true fried knows your weaknesses but shows you your strengths…” Sometimes all you have to do to discover your strengths and weaknesses is to ask a true friend.

Confidently Overcoming Discouragement When You Feel the Odds are Stacked Against You

Are you struggling with discouragement because of a job loss, a sickness, pending foreclosure or perhaps you are gong through a bankruptcy to stay off a foreclosure on your home. Then again you and your family may have already loss your home and currently reside in a homeless transitional facility. If you do not find yourself in one of the above scenarios then maybe you are struggling with discouragement because your retirement investment account is losing a ton of money due to mismanagement or the failing economy. There is a litany of reasons why you could possibly be struggling with discouragement. However, the key word here is “struggling” because you refuse to submit to the state of being deprived of courage, hope, loss of confidence, or a dishearten spirit.

The first thing you can do to win this struggle is perform a self-assessment to determine whether you are feeling any of the following emotions: disappointment, despair, dismay, downheartedness, despondency, depression, hopelessness, loss of confidence, low spirits, melancholy, sadness, or the blues. All these feelings originated in your thoughts based on your current situation. You made a conscious choice based on what you saw, heard, and or touched to respond to your external condition with negative emotions. Subsequently, you are disappointed which could lead to discouragement and you could possibly become despondent, and ultimately depressed. Once you are in the state of depression you are paralyzed to the point where you are not able to respond or your response is ineffective; thus your current situation does not change for the better. One of the last things you want to do when you find yourself in an adverse situation is to do nothing.

Evaluate yourself and determine whether you are struggling with discouragement because of your current situation. The following are four areas you need to examine while you are in this situation. Ensure you do not allow yourself to fall prey to them. Also listed are some things you can do to overcome discouragement:

Fatigue – While you are going through your current situation do your best to get some sleep so you will be well rested. Staying up at night worrying about what possibly will happen is not going to help your dilemma. You can think much more clearly with a good nights sleep. If you find that you cannot sleep a good workout may help you to fall asleep. I have found that prayer works miracles for me.

Frustration – Do not allow yourself to believe the situation is hopeless and get frustrated. I have found sometimes we have to change our thought pattern. In some cases our mind is so sat on things happening a certain way and we are not open to any other alternatives. Always develop other plans “B” and “C”. Just in case plan “A” does not work out.

Failure – Do not allow negative thoughts to inundate your mind which is usually the worse case scenario. Do not allow past failures to dictate your current situation. The past is history and if you can change it for the better do so but if not stop dwelling on something you cannot change. Do not entertain negative thoughts because this can lead to a negative attitude which could possible result in making poor decisions. In spite of your current situation you have to learn to encourage yourself.

Fear – Do not be afraid to talk to your creditors or the individual so the two of you can workout a plan that is beneficial for both parties.

If you notice throughout this article I constantly used the terminology “current situation.” I did this intentionally because the situation you find yourself in at this time is temporary. Although it is current, it is only temporary. Give it some time and it will end so do not allow the thoughts of you will never get out of this dilemma inundate your mind. The truth of the matter is “it is all temporary” and your object is to just get through it.

Self-Confidence and the Choice to Engage in Positive Conversations

You can identify a self-confident person by their body language and conversation. These people more than likely are positive people. They have positive thoughts and have positive things to say. The next time you have a conversation with some one, (it can be a total stranger) listen to what they say and how they say it. If, you talk to them long enough you will be able to determine their self-confidence level by their conversation and body language. If you talk with someone and all their conversation is about someone else’s misfortune, or gossiping, usually there is something going on with that person. In some cases, they are hurting (emotionally) and hurting people tend to hurt others. It makes them feel better about themselves to talk about what they heard about someone else’s affairs. Rather than talking about themselves and how they are making their positive “mark” on society, they would prefer to continue spreading second-hand information (gossip). These are the type of people you want to get far away from with a quickness. Pray for them (under your breath), and keep it moving.

What is a conversation? According to Wikipedia the free encyclopedia, it defines conversation as “communication between multiple people. It is a social skill that is not difficult for most individual. Conversations are ideal form of communication in some respects, since they allow people with different views on a topic to learn from each other.” What I interpret the definition to mean is that conversation is a dialogue between two or more people and they are exchanging information. If you are engaged in an exchange of information, with someone and it digresses down a negative path you have the ability to immediately stop the exchange.

If you stop a negative conversation particular when it is about someone who is not around to defend themselves then that is an indicator that you are a self-confident person. You can chose not to feed into the other person’s emotional pain by destroying someone’s reputation with malicious gossip. Dale Carnegie said it best when he stated, “When dealing with people, remember you are not dealing with creatures of logic but creatures of emotions.” Your goal should be to bring them up to your level by not continuing the conversation and telling them you do not participate in idle gossip. It makes me think of an old adage that states, “Garbage in garbage out” if you fill your mind with garbage (negative conversation) you will find yourself making negative statements.

If you are a person who generally have positive conversations and usually do not speak negative about others, then please do not allow the influence of others take you out of your character. This may mean immediately changing the conversation at the first sign of it going in a negative direction. You can stop the person and let them know you do not want to talk about that person since they are not there to defend them self. Another option is to simply walk away from the person and the conversation.

Confidence to Achieve Your Life Goal or Dream

Do have a life goal or dream that you want to achieve but do not know how? Do you lack the self-confidence to even attempt your goal? If this is you, then the following steps listed in this article can help you gain the confidence in yourself to start working towards your goal.

Do something you have to be in the game in order to win, thus you cannot just talk about your goal (dream) you have to do something to make it a reality. Sometimes it is in our failures that makes us a better person, builds our character, increase our wisdom, and extend our knowledge base. In these failures we learn what not to do the next time and the next time and the next if that is what it takes. We never give up, we stick and stay we do not cave in and quit. Thomas Edison said, “I did not fail 10,000 times in inventing the light bulb but I learn 10,000 times how not to invent the light bulb”. It is all in your attitude; your perspective; how you view the situation. You must develop confidence in your ability to at least try. Each time you fail you should learn from our mistakes; failure should always be a learning experience. These learning experiences extend your knowledge base and experience. Study why it did not work and then attempt another
approach.

You must learn from your mistakes get to the root cause and stop addressing the symptoms. Once you get to the bottom (root) of the problem and eliminate it that should address some of the other issues. So often we are addressing symptoms or side effects of deeper issues. For instance, if you have lack of confidence in your ability you need to mediate on why. You may need to go as far back as your childhood. Whatever the case maybe it needs to be identified; why you do not feel you can accomplish your life goal or dream. Perhaps as a child you were not encouraged or you were not told you can do whatever you set your mind to do. Another cause could be that maybe you have had a number of failures in your life and these failures have drained your confidence in yourself.

Write it down, commit it to paper and view it daily. Make a list of activities (tasks) you have to do daily in order to achieve your goal. Make them measurable so you can track your progress. For example, if your goal is to lose weight then you have to count calories, carbs, and fats daily to ensure you are not exceeding the daily recommended amount. Keep a record of your weekly exercise routines, and the amount of water you drink during the day. Write your plan of action down. Keep a daily journal of your progress and make a daily to-do list. Check off each item as you accomplish it, this will give you a sense of satisfaction and will demonstrate your progress. This is a sure fire confidence builder, it will demonstrate to you that you are capable of achieving your goal. It shows progress.

Concentrate on your goal: What is it you would like to achieve? Put it in your subconscious mind by visualizing yourself at your goal. Make a picture (dream) board if you cannot visualize it in your mind. See yourself having more money, or operating your own business, or perhaps your goal is to spend more time with your family. Constantly, mediate on it, direct your energy towards achieving your goal. Whatever you focus on, give your attention, and energy to is what you will manifest.
Take control of your thoughts always have positive thoughts towards your goal “no doubt” know that you have the power within to achieve whatever you set your mind to achieve. Whatever your mind can conceive and if you believe it, you can achieve it.

Rome was not built in a day so do not expect to achieve your life goal or dream over night. It is a process and as long as you are making progress by taking action, then you will eventually achieve your goal.

Confidence to Manifest your Heart’s Desire

Do you know your desires (impulse of thoughts) can determine your destiny? Before you continue reading this article - think about it. What is it that you desire? What goals or dreams do you wish to achieve in life? Well, do you talk about your desire; have you visualized yourself with it? Do you have a plan of action? And finally, have your behavior and character transformed into a person that have already achieved their desire? Ask yourself these questions as you read the remainder of this article. This is a telephone conversation I had with success expert Antionettte Tate author of “Learn How to Manifest Your Heart’s Desire” we discussed her step-by-step action plan.

In essence, she shared with me if an individual has a desire to be a successful home-based business owner, then they have to see themselves successful in order to achieve their goal or desire. She went on to explain people are capable and able to achieve their desire but they have to get mentally prepared. Therefore, we have to believe and have confidence in ourselves; organize our thoughts and commit them to paper. We used the example of starting an online home-based business she said, “we have to use our imagination and visualize ourselves operating a successful home-based internet marketing business. This business could possibly be an online affiliate marketing, network marketing, direct sales, or perhaps the person may have their own product that they are selling. Nevertheless, we have to take control of our thoughts, and believe or be confident in ourselves that we can operate a successful home-based business.

Next, she explained the individual has to take ACTION. This means the individual needs a PLAN OF ACTION – do the research determine what is required to start this business, take personal development courses, find someone who is currently online and successful and allow them to mentor them.

Finally, she said, “in order for the individual to work their plan, They have to focus on their objective and give positive thoughts to achieve their desire; persevere even when there are set backs or it is taking longer than they thought to implement their plan. She said focus on the positive aspects of the plan implementation not on “what is going wrong” with the plan. The individual should constantly give positive thoughts to their desire. These positive thoughts should be to the point that the individual has transformed their self into a successful online home based-business owner.

In concluding our conversation she could not stress enough to be flexible. Do not confuse the “end with the means.” The goal is to manifest your heart’s desire, she said that is the end. The individual may try a number of methods that do not work, those are the means. Do not confuse the means with the end. Be flexible because the individual may start with one home-based business opportunity and it may not work so s/he will try another until s/he finds their niche. The bottom line is those were means to get the individual to their end which is to become a successful online home-based business owner.

Self-Confidence Builders Excercise #1

This is the first of a series of exercises to build your self-confidence and or self-esteem. I want you to speak to and hold a conversation with a total stranger. This total stranger should be someone of a different gender, race, and socioeconomic status than yourself. You could possibly come in contact with this person on an elevator, at a coffee shop, in the break room at work, in the grocery store line, at a store in the mall shopping, or perhaps at your place of worship.

This exercise will be a great ice breaker for you, if you will do it. You have to talk about some type of current event, something everyone knows of or have heard about. Perhaps, something in the National news not local but National. When you approach this person you are already in their “space”, i.e., in the elevator, break room at work, coffee shop, grocery store line. Keep in mind: eye contact, body language, and voice tone.

The following is an illustration how I would build my confidence by speaking to and engage in dialogue with a total stranger in an elevator:

As I get on the elevator and he is standing inside waiting for me to get on, I would approach him with my arms raised in disguise, looking in his eyes with a slightly raise voice tone and say:

Lovie: “Boy did you see that game last night? I just knew Orlando had that game in the bag so they could even the series 2-2. You know, I always root for the underdog team. (for those you do not know I am talking about the NBA championship play-off).

Stranger in the elevator: “Ya I saw it, I was disappoint, too.” (this could possibly be his response or “No, I didn’t” could be).

Remember the stranger’s response does not matter, what is important is you feeling empowered to initiate the conversation. Now, ladies and gents this will be a good start to build your confidence and improve your self-esteem. You will leave their “space” empowered because you took control of that situation by starting the conversation and leading it. This is a small step but you will be surprised how it will make you feel. You never know you may have just brighten that person’s day. This was a win-win situation. What a way to start your day.

Self-Confidence Article Series


Self-Confidence and Your Home-Based Business - Strategies on How To Project a Positive Image


Confidence sells, it breeds success. Regardless of your occupation as a home-based business owner, always remember you are the product and you have to sell yourself. You have to project a confident image to the buyer. If, the buyer does not feel you have confident in yourself or your product, then you may not be able to close the deal. Some indicators of lack of confidence are you are rambling on and on in your presentation; excessive nervousness; not being prepared, and or you are not knowledgeable about your product..

The purpose of this article is to help you build your self-confidence. This is the first of three articles that was written to increase your self-confidence level.

1. Prepare yourself before you speak. In an ever changing society you need to be prepared. You have to ensure you have all the facts (or at least the ones you need) about a subject matter before you set out to take on the challenge. You have to do your research talk to other people who may have experience in your area of interest. If, you have time get some training in the area. There is an enormous amount of free training, especially online. Prepare the facts get expert opinions and be able to quote what the experts are saying or said about the matter. However, most importantly, be organized. Develop a reputation as someone who can intelligently present a logical presentation or make a good factual based decision.

When you realize you are going to be in a situation where you have to voice your opinion and it may not be the most popular opinion be prepared to defend your position. Prepare at least three positions 1) Best case – if the other individual(s) are in agreement with you; 2) Worst case- if there is total disagreement and; 3) the most probable case - this is the case that will most likely occur. It is a mixture of best and worst cases.

2. Practice acting in a firmer more confident manner. Stand in the mirror and practice holding your ground but not being obnoxious. Watch your body language: practice open posture - eye contact and smiles avoid closed posture – folded arms and very little eye contact. Portray a relaxed demeanor stand straight and tall do not snoop or slouch. Listen at your voice tone, ensure it is not too high or low. Remember to apply your best, most likely, and worst case scenarios with a smile, calmly, and methodically. Practice, practice, and more practice until the body language, voice tone, and thought process are natural.

3. Always keep in mind confident people are positive people and everything begins with your thoughts which determines your destiny. I stated this before but it bears repeating:

Watch your Thoughts, for they become Words
Choose your Words, for they become Actions
Understand your Actions, for they become Habits
Study your Habits, for they will become your Character
Develop your Character, for it becomes your Destiny

So, you see your thoughts determine your destiny, they determine your place in life. Guard your thoughts do not entertain any negative, destructive, and or degrading thoughts about yourself or anyone else. They will come and when they do cancel them with something positive pure, edifying, and or uplifting about yourself and or that person, place, or thing.

4. You can identify a confident person by their body language and conversation. These people more than likely are positive people. They have positive thoughts and have positive things to say. The next time you have a conversation with some one, it can be a total stranger listen to what they say and how they say it. If, you talk to them long enough you will be able to determine their self-confidence level by their conversation and body language. If you talk with someone and all their conversation is about someone else’s misfortune or gossiping, usually there is something going on with that person. Usually, they have been hurt and hurting people tend to hurt others. It makes them feel better about themselves to talk about what they heard about someone else’s affairs. Rather than talk about themselves and how they are making their positive “mark” on society, they would prefer to continue spreading second-hand information (gossip). These are the people you want to get away from with a quickness, pray for them (under your breath), and keep it moving.

Always remember, act confident even if you are not, if you are nervous take deep breaths and hold them so you can calm down. Try your best to exude confidence. People generally believe a person who appears to know what she/he is talking about whether the person is right or wrong. They tend to believe the person because of their body language and because of the eloquence of their speech in other words “they sound good”.


Confidence Builders – How to Improve Yours

“Calm down” have you ever heard someone tell someone to “Calm down”. We need to calm ourselves down when we are in a stressful situation and we are feeling helpless, out of control, and our mind is hitting us with a preponderance of negative thoughts. What if this happens? or What if that happens? The plain truths about “what if’s” are they usually don’t happen. However, we are conditioned to think of the worst case scenario. Usually, our body language plays right along with our mind – jittery, moving, talking, or laughing too much. When this happens take a few breaths, clear your mind, and “calm down”.

This is the second article in a three part series on self-confidence builders. The purpose of these articles are to help you build or increase your confidence. In them I will give you some pointers that you can apply immediately to help you in this area.

Know what you are capable of and do it. No one knows everything. However, whatever areas in your life or business you are expected to know you need to be knowledgeable. If you have a home-based internet marketing business and or network marketing business you are not expected to know everything there is to know about them. However, the area of the business the area of the business you specialize in position yourself (by researching, take training courses to acquire the proper knowledge) as that particular area expert. Perform self-talk tell yourself you are knowledgeable in that area and are capable of sharing your knowledge with others in a global market.

Make it a habit to be self-confident eliminate all distractions that are interfering with your concentration of being a positive, uplifting, and a confident person. Remember, your thoughts, speech, and body language are indicators of your confidence level. If you are in a negative or destructive relationship and or environment, they could possibly hinder you from building your confidence.

Know your strengths and weaknesses. Know what you are good at verses what you are not and work in your areas of strength. Work on your areas of weakness and while you are working on these areas, if you have a partner or friend who is good in your weak area, allow them to assist you. Always build yourself up, pat yourself on the back and dwell on your positive aspects. Do not dwell on negative thoughts about yourself, always think on the things you do well. Always encourage yourself do not depend on others to validate or affirm you. Remember to “cancel” all negative thoughts with an overwhelming influx of the positive aspects of yourself.

Know who you are and who and what are important to you. Know what you value and what motivate, and inspire you. “Be true to thyself”, as we would say in my neighborhood “be real”, especially with yourself. We can put on airs and facades with other people but at the end of the day we have to look in the mirror and make a real assessment of ourselves. We have to ask ourselves why am I making false impressions of myself to others? I’m I that concerned about what others think of me that I have to pretend to be someone I’m not? If you are so concerned about what others think of you, then you need to make improvements in your deficient areas. If there is something about yourself you are not pleased with, then make an honest effort to change it, if it can be changed.

Needless to say, we all have life challenges, deficiencies, and struggles because life (things) happens. Oprah said, “the greatest lesson of my life (has been) to recognize I am solely responsible for it, and not trying to please other people, and not living my life to please other people, but doing what my heart says all the time”.


Self-Confidence, You Have to Make It a Practice

Have you decided to learn from past mistakes and not beat yourself up for being human?
We are going to make bad decisions and rather than dwell on them learn from them. Learn what not to do the next time that situation or a similar situation presents itself to you. Forgive yourself, just in case no one has told you lately, “you are not perfect”.

This is the third and final article in a three part series on self-confidence builders. The purpose of these articles is to help you build or increase your confidence. In them I will give you some pointers that you can apply immediately to help you in this area.

Do not dwell on your past mistakes learn from them, how not to do it the next time. If you accomplish something do not be afraid to let someone know. Sometimes you have to talk yourself up. You have to learn how to encourage yourself rather than talk to others about your failure you should talk about your success. You would not talk about your success to the point that you could be labeled braggadocio; you are just casually mentioning it as your own confidence builder.

Let us not get stuck in a rut try new things, take a different routine to work, (unless you are like me someone who work-from-home) change your hair, treat yourself some times. Do not wait for someone to do something special for you do it for yourself. Love on you. I have found if you love you; people treat you better. They realize you love yourself to much to be mistreated by someone else. Try new experiences, think outside the box. For example, who said you have to work Monday – Friday from 9 to 5 for 30 years. Then when you finally retire you are limited to a fixed income that is less than what you earned when you were working and it is still not enough to live off of. Why not start your own home-based business now while you are employed. Then, if something should happen to your job or you want to retire early you have something, as my mom would say, “to fall back on”. If nothing else it will be a new experience for you and the more new experiences you have in your life the more confident you will feel in unknown situations. Expand your knowledge base by trying something new.

Never stop learning new things. We have a world wide library at our fingertips - the internet. We can put a topic in the search engine press “search” and we have access to pages of information for that topic. Turn the television off and pick up a book and read about different events, places, cultures, and people. Create time for reading and sharing with your family and friends. All these things help build your confidence, reading allows you to stay abreast of current events. Then, when you speak to the stranger in the elevator; you will have a current event to share or ask them what do they think about it. Always surround yourself with knowledgeable people; people who are smarter than you; folks who can show you something new and cutting edge. This also helps to build your confidence because you are learning things the average people do not know. Subsequently, you would be considered above average because of your intellect. How about that to boost your confidence and even your self-esteem?

Like I mentioned in prior article practice, practice, and more practice being self-confident. Self-confidence is important and can be learned. However, it takes practice and a conscious effort from you. This time rather than practice in front of your mirror practice in small situations. Be the first to do something, i.e. the first to speak to a stranger and maintain eye contact, the first to extend your hand for a hand-shake, or the first to try something new or different with your business when it is not the popular thing to do. Former President Robert F. Kennedy said, “Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly”.

My intent of writing these articles was to share with you the necessary tools to solve your problems and negotiate stressful life challenges you will encounter. If you apply these methods you should not be as fearful when life (things) happen. Also you should be empowered to take control of the challenge and not allow the challenge take control you.
